Kendall Schmidt

Kendall Francis Schmidt (born November 2, 1990) is an American actor and singer. He is best known for playing Kendall Knight in Big Time Rush. He has played small roles on different TV shows such as ER, Without a Trace, Phil of the Future, Ghost Whisperer and Frasier.

 

 

 

Early life

He was born in Wichita, Kansas to Kent and Kathy Schmidt. He is the youngest of three. His brothers are Kenneth Schmidt and Kevin Schmidt. Schmidt started singing at the age of 5. His first band he was in was called "Lovers Make Liars" and their first gig was at Warped tour. Since then, Schmidt started working on a side project with his friend and fellow actor Dustin Belt called 'Heffron Drive'. At the moment Schmidt is in a band called 'Big Time Rush' and is also acting in a Nickelodeon produced series with the same name.

Career

Schmidt began his acting career at age six, appearing in a Chex television commercial. When he was 10 years old, he was one of three young actors who was hired to be Haley Joel Osment's stand-in and body double (they shared the same agent) in the Steven Spielberg film, A.I. Artificial Intelligence.[1] He celebrated his birthday on the set, and Spielberg and the cast surprised him with a birthday cake decorated with Star Wars figures.[1] Schmidt also appeared in Ghost Whisperer.
In mid 2009, Schmidt was cast in the Nickelodeon series Big Time Rush as one of the four main characters, Kendall Knight. The show premiered to a record breaking 7.1 million total viewers, making it the highest rated premiere for a live action series in Nick history.
